Sunflower Barn, situated in a picturesque setting within the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, is a character stone barn with exposed beams and wooden floors.

It is the perfect country retreat, being part of a 14 acre small holding on the outskirts of the peaceful village of Penallt. Located on a quiet lane, it has its own private driveway with parking for up to 3 cars. Holiday makers are welcome, by arrangement, to roam the land and observe the wildlife in its natural environment. The farm is part of the Ty Gofal management scheme under which special attention is paid to environmentally responsible grazing, hedgerow maintenance & tree planting. We are very much aware of the need to strike a balance between tourism and the environment and are happy to arrange delivery (at a reasonable charge) of a box of fresh organic produce, grown locally wherever possible, to greet you on arrival.

Sunflower Barn has a garden with views over the Wye Valley and towards the Forest of Dean including a fenced duck pond and a bricked patio area with BBQ for dining al fresco. Bird feeders & nesting boxes help to encourage wildlife into the garden.

It is available throughout the year for self catering holiday rentals including short breaks. Our tariff varies depending on the time of year booked. All prices include linen, towels, heating, hot water and electricity. Horses can be brought by arrangement at certain times of the year. There is no stabling but we have fenced paddocks.
